Chaperones Needed!
Chaperones ski/snowboard for FREE! Kindly consider joining us for an evening or two of skiing or snowboarding at Nashoba! To be a successful program, we depend upon and need parent chaperones. However, there is no need to ski/snowboard to chaperone – enjoy an evening in the chalet! Either way, we require a valid CORI on file with the school. It is easy to sign up when registering your child(ren) - just click to indicate you would like to be a chaperone.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Chaperones
Parent participation as chaperones has always been a major contribution to a well-coordinated and safe program. If you would like to help, while enjoying a winter’s evening skiing or snowboarding for free, please let us know!
Chaperone duties include helping with making sure all children get to and from Nashoba, helping with ski or snowboard boots, assisting children in the rental shop, escorting children to correct lessons, and ensuring everyone is skiing or snowboarding with a buddy.
Chaperones are required to have a CORI on file with the HPS central office. If you do not, print out the form from this link: Blank CORI form; Bring the form and a copy of your license to your child's school office or the Holliston Public Schools central office at 370 Hollis Street, Holliston, Massachusetts 01746.
Weather
If the weather is not suitable for skiing or driving, a club cancellation email notification goes out. Weather conditions must be severe to postpone the program, and we will attempt to make up any cancellations in subsequent weeks. Nashoba will not and does not return partial refunds if the 5-week ski program is incomplete. Please know we will make every effort to complete our 5-week program prior to the end of February.
Behavior and Expectations Statement
To provide a pleasant and positive experience for all involved, misbehavior of any kind is not tolerated. We need your support and for all children to have an enjoyable and safe experience. We, the Holliston PTO, sponsor the club in hopes to build community, create excitement for outdoors sports, and be well organized and supervised by many enthusiastic adult chaperones. We cannot, however, create a fun and safe environment without you, the families, and caregivers.
Hallmarks of a Successful Program:
*Safety awareness and adherence, and demonstration of good judgment and behavior.
*All skiers and snowboarders are expected to know the Skier/Snowboarder Responsibility Code and to abide by it. A copy of the Code is at the bottom of this page.
*Failure to practice good judgment and safe ski/snowboarding behavior may result in the loss of skiing or snowboarding privileges.
*We, the Holliston PTO, and coordinators, request that helmets are worn whenever children are skiing or snowboarding to minimize the risk of serious head injury. Please visit the CDC for more information.
*Students enrolled in PTO-sponsored ski/snowboard programs are expected to abide by the published Policies of Expected Conduct found in each respective school’s Student/Parent Handbook.
*Respectful and appropriate behavior (of oneself and others) is always expected on or off the mountain, including the ski lodges, parking lots, and buses.
*There is zero tolerance for, and prohibition of breaking the law: no use of alcohol, controlled substances, tobacco, vaping and associated products, illegal substances, any theft, or other irresponsible or reckless behaviors. By registering your child(ren), this is an implicit agreement.
*Any vandalism, theft, or breakage, and resulting assessments, costs, or fines, are the sole responsibility of the student and respective parents/guardians/caregivers.
*Serious infractions automatically terminate student participation in the ski/snowboard program with no refund issued for the remainder of the season. School Administration is notified.
*Holliston PTO and its Ski/Snowboard Club Coordinators reserve the right to temporarily suspend program participation for other infractions deemed unsafe or outside of the guidelines posted.
*Participation in a future PTO sponsored ski/snowboard program may also be in jeopardy if a child(ren)’s membership is suspended or terminated.
*Violations may also forfeit a child(ren)’s privilege of riding the bus home. In this case, parent(s)/guardian(s)/caregiver(s) must provide transportation home from Nashoba Valley if deemed necessary by the Holliston PTO and /or the Ski/Snowboard Club Coordinators.
Wait List Policy
Registrations received after the closing date may be “wait-listed” if there are no slots available. You will receive wait-listed notification by phone or email. If an opening does occur, you will receive notification by phone and/or email; a “Late Registration Fee” may apply.
Program Refund Policy
If cancelling a registration from the program 21 days prior to the beginning of the program or cancelling for medical reasons such as an injury that prevents your child(ren) from participating, and a wait-listed skier/snowboarder is available to fill the slot, a full refund is granted. If no one is available to take the open slot, a “half refund” is issued. No refunds are issued after the program starts.
Rental Refund Policy
If you selected and paid for rentals through the registration portal, all pre-fit night rental fees are covered (by the program). If you signed up for rentals and decide to purchase equipment or drop the program after the pre-fit night, it is solely your responsibility to take the rental slip receipt at the pre-fit night to the Nashoba Valley rental office for a refund. The PTO program cannot manage this for you.
If you drop your child(ren) from the program within the required 21-day notification, refunds for rental equipment are issued by the program prior to the pre-fit night.
**Lost Badge Policy: Nashoba Valley charges $5 for lost badges, no exceptions.
Financial Assistance
Scholarships are available on a limited basis and managed discreetly and with respect. To apply for financial assistance, please contact your school counselor or nurse, school-level club coordinator, or Barbara Ryan at hollistonskiclub@gmail.com. Again, all requests are strictly confidential.
